KIMC is seeking a Director Financial Reporting to join our team. An ideal candidate will be part of a fast paced and dynamic finance team within a growing organization in the investment management industry. This role requires a driven team-player with a positive and proactive attitude, excellent organization, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. This role will contribute to the success of the organization by providing timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.


  • Review and ensure proper accounting for the ownership of investments and investment entities
  • Subject matter expert in GAAP as it applies to external reporting
  • Oversee ESG reporting. Includes gaining understanding of requirements, best practices, and coordination among departments to provide relevant information
  • Drive migration to new KPI system implementation and ensure all stakeholders are represented
  • Lead GIPS compliance efforts, testing, and annual certification
  • Primary contact for Workiva for quarterly and annual reporting presentation
  • Contribute to the on-going development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive accounting system and controls
  • Review and approve financial reporting for the Funds
  • Review of investment level monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date actual to budget and business plan variances and provide summaries to senior management
  • Perform technical accounting research and coordination of implementation, including footnote disclosures
  • Quarterly investor report oversight including coordination with Asset Management and Accounting Departments
  • Quarterly investor account statement review
  • Quarterly and annual fair value support review in conjunction with FP&A group and Investment Analysts
  • Compile private equity industry/competitor benchmarking analysis
  • Provide assistance with REIT compliance testing, as needed
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual lender financial reporting requirements
  • Work with external auditors
  • First line of communication with investors regarding GAAP reporting
  • Ad-hoc projects, as needed


  • Relevant experience with GAAP financial statement reporting and footnote preparation
  • Prefer at least seven (7) years experience with investment advisory entities (Real Estate or Private Equity), REITs, or joint venture structures whether in public accounting or private equity industry
  • Ability to read and understand entity formation documents or investment offering documents along with a general knowledge of tax reporting a big plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, or economics
  • CPA or advanced degree preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and accounting software
  • Critical thinking and skills in financial analysis and project management
  • Ability to work independently and in a team construct
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with great organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Able to communicate timely, professionally and cross-functionally
  • Excellent business references
